I was in my little greenhouse the other day, and there was a honey bee buzzing around trying to find a way out. It was bumping against the glass, flying from corner to corner and side to side. It was getting very frustrated, I could tell this by the changing tones of the buzzing sound it was making. The bee was also getting tired
The bee came down to my height and I tried to coax it towards the open door, but it kept flying upwards towards the glass roof
After a while buzzing around up there it got caught on the thread of a spider’s web. The spider came out of the darkness and started to move towards the bee. I was thinking that this poor bee, after all that hard work was going to end up on a spider’s dinner plate. I was intrigued at the bee because it did not panic but got its leg free, crawled under the frame of the panel round the glass where it had managed to find an escape route, which I could not see and flew away as though nothing had happened
The bee flew away to carry on its working task and as I watched it, got the feeling that it never even looked back. The spider went back into its dark hiding place and I watched the bee disappear into the distance
This made me think about something …..
Are some people not in the greenhouse bumping into the glass, getting frustrated and even sometimes angry, trying to escape the situation they are in?
Some people, like the bee know there is more outside the greenhouse, but unlike the bee stay where they are trapped in one place, bumping into the glass, unhappy, knowing that there may be an escape but would rather stay where they are, even though it is hard work
Do we not all meet some enemy who has been lurking in the darkness, ready to pounce on us sometimes ?
Some people know there are enemies who will try to trap us and deceive us, but like the bee, when they meet them rather than giving the enemy their energy by panicking and being afraid of them, will calmly look for a way to evade them because like the bee, they have a bigger task to perform and the enemy is trapped in their own world. It is no good trying to reason with these people as they will never understand
Do we not get stuck in a trap sometimes ( Even if it is only by one leg) and think, “This is it, I’m stuck ?”
Some people do get stuck and dragged backwards into The Matrix and think it is easier to “Go with the Flow” and unlike the bee will stay stuck and await their fate. They don’t like the situation they are in, but accept it because it is easier not to think about it. Yet some people know that they are stuck and know that if they do not act quickly something bad is going to happen to them, so they assess the situation and find a way out of The Matrix and the dark enemy is left going hungry because they did not get you
At the moment I am facing a dark enemy in the shape of a new Boss
The office is the greenhouse, she is the spider and I am the bee. I was the bee bumping into the glass, unhappy, frustrated and tired. She was the spider trying to trap me into her web of control. I did get trapped by one leg on more than one occasion as I nearly gave in a few times thinking it was easier to “Go with the Flow” but each time I got trapped, I wriggled free and like the bee would not surrender my life, I have bigger tasks to concentrate on and she was the one who had to slink back into the darkness
I am not saying she likes it, and she will try to lure me into her web again I am sure, but like the bee I focus on what is more important, and on what I have seen that the spider hasn’t and what I have learned
All the spider wants is to destroy your life for her own greed and selfishness, she thinks she is more powerful than you because she has a sticky web to throw out and you don’t. These sticky webs are very attractive to some, vanity, greed, money, selfishness and power, I am sure you can think of some more.
The spider only concentrates on her own world and what attracts you to enter her world, but it does not matter how many sticky webs are thrown at us, we know there is always a way of escape and we are not all ready to surrender to what people want us to be
